Pest Control in Auraria
Auraria, one of Georgia's earliest gold rush settlements, is a rural community in the Lumpkin County foothills with older structures that carry high termite exposure due to their age and original construction. The forested surroundings create consistent wildlife and rodent activity, and the area's rural character makes it a reliable place for fire ant colonies in open areas. Many structures here have never had a professional WDO inspection, something we strongly recommend for any property in this community.
Auraria is a small, historic rural community in the Lumpkin County foothills, one of Georgia's earliest gold-rush settlements. Its pest profile is driven by two things: the age of its structures and the forest all around them. We serve Auraria's homes and rural properties as part of our Lumpkin County coverage.
The standout issue in Auraria is termite exposure. Many of the older structures here were built with original, untreated construction and have never had a professional WDO inspection, which is a real gap given the age and the wood-to-soil contact common on rural buildings. Alongside that, the forested surroundings keep wildlife and rodents active, and open ground stays reliable fire ant territory. We start with a free inspection and treat what we actually find.

Common Pests in Auraria
These are the pest pressures we most commonly treat in Auraria and the surrounding Lumpkin County area.
Subterranean Termites
Auraria's older, original-construction structures carry high termite exposure, and many have never been professionally inspected. A free WDO inspection catches colonies before they cause structural damage, and we handle treatment and WDO letters for sales.
Wildlife
The forested surroundings send raccoons and squirrels into attics, crawl spaces, and outbuildings. We remove them and seal the entry points so they can't return, rather than just trapping.
Rodents
Mice and rats move from the woods into homes and outbuildings as it cools, and rural structures with gaps are easy targets. Exclusion work seals them out for a lasting fix.
Fire Ants
Auraria's open, rural ground stays reliable fire ant territory through the warm season. We treat lawns and the margins where colonies build.
Auraria Pest Control by Season
Pests in Auraria follow the calendar. Knowing what's coming is half of staying ahead of it.
Spring
Termites swarm from older structures, the first fire ant mounds appear, and wildlife looks for den sites as the season opens.
Summer
Fire ants and wasps peak across open ground, and carpenter ants stay active in the wooded, humid conditions.
Fall
Rodents and wildlife push in from the forest, and stink bugs cluster on structures. The key exclusion season.
Winter
Rodents already indoors stay active. A quiet, ideal window for termite inspections on Auraria's older buildings.

My old Auraria home has never had a termite inspection, should it?
Yes, and it's free. Auraria's older, original-construction structures carry high termite exposure, and going without an inspection is exactly how colonies do years of hidden damage. We'll check and give you a straight answer. Call (706) 754-6248.
Can you handle wildlife and rodents from the surrounding woods?
We can. Raccoons, squirrels, and rodents from the forest are common here. We remove them and seal the entry points so it's a lasting fix, not a yearly repeat.
Do you treat fire ants in rural yards and open ground?
Yes. Auraria's open, rural setting keeps fire ants persistent through the warm months, and we treat both lawns and the margins where colonies form.
Are your treatments safe around family, pets, and livestock?
Yes. We use targeted products placed carefully and will always talk through anything near animals, feed, or gardens before we treat.
